What Strategic Sourcing - Global Products contributes to Cardinal Health
Global Sourcing is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers and patients. Develops and executes strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is created through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization and risk mitigation. Strategic Sourcing Global Products is responsible for managing a portfolio of Cardinal Brand products, raw materials, spend and suppliers. Development and execution of global sourcing strategies to achieve best total value, sustainable productivity and high levels of quality and service aligned with business objectives.
This is a hybrid position & will require 1 day a week in one of the following offices: Dublin, OH; Mansfield, MA; Waukegan, IL; El Paso, TX
Responsibilities
Manage a significant portfolio of suppliers supporting raw materials and packaging materials for the Medical manufacturing network.
Through self and others:
Develops effective short and long-term category strategies to include supply chain continuity, risk management, optimizing supplier network and attaining best cost.
Collaborate with and influence business partners in a highly matrixed environment to optimize key supplier performance and innovation. Influence business decisions to enter/exit product lines, drive make/buy decisions and implement supply in optimizations.
Proactive leadership and management with cross-functional partners to effectively select suppliers, negotiate favorable contracts and manage supplier performance and relationships.
Facilitates Supplier Relationship Management through development and tracking of Key Performance Indicators for the category; establishes collaborative environment with key suppliers and business partners to optimize supplier performance and innovation.
Lead negotiation/implementation of Agreements; develops contract terms and conditions to elevate rates/terms and mitigate risk.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent work experience preferred
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a related field preferred
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at all levels of technical ability and expertise, as well as external suppliers.
Demonstrates a strong financial acumen.
Expertise with contract requirements to negotiate critical terms and conditions in line with category strategy, preferred
Ability to coach and develop a team in strategy development and sourcing execution.

Drives annual cost savings through effective strategies and negotiations. Cost savings should meet each year’s business, and coaches direct reports in this area.
Sets aggressive continuous improvement goals for assigned categories and explores a broad set of value levers to deliver through others on targets.
Understand the Medical supplier portfolio risk profile and develop mitigation actions and plans.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at various levels of expertise on a global landscape.
Interacts with subordinates, peers, customers, and suppliers at various management levels; may interact with senior management
Anticipated salary range: $103,500 - $155,295
