Global Sourcing Associate (Hybrid)

The Sourcing Associate oversees the production of Private Brands or categories manufactured exclusively for Belk, from initial concept sample through delivery.  They ensure the production of the line for their assigned brand(s) or category is managed effectively and efficiently. Partner with the Sourcing Manager and Brand Manager to ensure brand aesthetic is maintained and merchandise meets or surpasses quality, margin and delivery targets.  

What you will do

Partner with sourcing manager on the execution of the sourcing strategy inclusive of understanding the vision for the brand or category in area of responsibility and to achieve margin plansSupport the management of the timeline and total production process for assigned private brands or categories from initial concept sample through delivery with internal and overseas partnersCommunicate target costs, quantities by style and negotiate costs to achieve competitive pricing and overall financial goalsWork closely with the Color & Product Integrity team to ensure that all products meet all quality and safety standardsPartner with cross functional team (CFT) including, but not limited to, sourcing manager, brand manager, designer, textile designer, technical designer and color team on all approvalsCreate final vendor and style allocation recap and communicate to CFT as appropriateMaintain follow up with suppliers on placements to align with time and action calendar to ensure product specifications, quality standards, deadlines and deliveries are met as contracted.Monitor style set up, purchase order creation and maintenance processes with bottom line accountability for the integrity and accuracy of all data entered into PLM.Coordinate with logistics and suppliers to resolve shipping issuesAccountable for supporting a learning culture that will empower and leverage a collaborative team environmentMaintain alignment of work to support company mission, vision, values, goals, and strategiesOther duties as assigned by manager or required by business need



Education Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent business experience Required


Experience Qualifications

4-6 years product development, sourcing or its equivalent Required

Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skillsDetail oriented, flexible, self-motivated, and able to lead othersFlexible; capable of shifting to different projects as priorities change; successfully navigates ambiguity and drives business results regardless of obstaclesPerforms basic retail math and utilizes formulas for analysis and reporting activitiesDetail-oriented to manage customer requirements and understand product; must possess organizational and planning skillsAbility to communicate effectively at all levels (written and verbal)Use analytical and reasoning skills to review data, arrive at fact-based conclusions, and recommend next-step actionsProficiency in Microsoft office products, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPointKnowledge of the product manufacturing techniques, fabrication, and costing components that impact product line development
