Job Description

Scope of Position

The focus of the Global Sales Executive is on achieving results that are aligned with the overall organization and our strategic goals. Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions, are the keys to achieving the performance objectives of the Global Sales Executive role at Expeditors. Our Global Sales Executives are focused on driving business development on our larger, more strategic accounts.

 

The Global Sales Executive orchestrates involvement of multiple people in our Sales process, so that new customer revenue is consistently secured for our district offices and Expeditors network. The job environment is flexible, constantly changing, and provides growth opportunity, recognition and reward for the

achievement of business results. This position reports to the District Manager and Regional Vice President.

 

Key Deliverables

These are the minimum results expected from a successful Global Sales Executive:Manage a list of Named Accounts, and demonstrate success at closing new logo and new business with target and prospect accounts based on established new logo/new business revenue expectations.Timely data entry in our Customer Relationship Management toolOrchestrate customer / Expeditors network relationship and collaborate with regional Product, Service, Geo, and Knowledge Management resourcesParticipate in the creation of value-added solutions for customer’s logistics needs, including supporting diagrams and cost-benefit calculationsSupport the transition of new accounts through customer introductions, information transfer, and securing any necessary customer paperworkWhen needed, support AR (accounts receivable) collectionAttend training & development sessions to continue developing selling skills and updating Expeditors Product and Service knowledgeWorking knowledge of industry trends and forecastsTake on additional assignments as required, supporting company needs

Qualifications

Requirements

 

Minimum of 8 years of solid sales experience within the logistics industry or equivalent.Demonstrated success in identifying, targeting, and closing business with major customers in the market.Skilled in managing complex sales cycles, leading negotiations, navigating key decision-making layers and converting high-potential leads into strategic customers.Deep understanding of market dynamics, major customers in the market, customer pain points / challenges and competitive positioning to tailor value propositions to secure those targets.Demonstrated relentless focus on achieving revenue targets through strategic wins and expanding share-of-wallet within key targets.Experience in cross-districts / geographic team selling with other Sales and Operations teams within the network to align solutions with customer needs and accelerate deal closure.Willingness and ability to meet with customers off-site on a regular basis.Oral and written proficiency in the English language.Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.Comfortable with regular data entry on a laptop computer.Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.Empowered to make timely decisions in response to changing conditions.
