Job Description Global QHSSE Manager - Marine
Location: Netherlands, Rotterdam (with international travel)

We are partnering with a leading maritime organisation to recruit a Global QHSSE Manager - Marine. This is a key leadership role overseeing the effective implementation and continuous improvement of QHSSE policies, systems, and practices across a diverse fleet.
You'll be the driving force behind compliance, safety culture, and operational excellence — working closely with vessel crews, shore-based teams, and senior management to ensure the highest international standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development, review, and optimisation of QHSSE procedures and processes. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and regulations (ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO 9001, 14001, 45001). Maintain and oversee the marine section of the company's operating management system (ROMS Marine). Promote a strong safety culture through awareness materials, toolbox talks, lessons learned, and targeted training. Identify and address QHSSE training needs for crew and shore-based personnel. Facilitate and monitor risk assessments, non-conformity reporting, and corrective actions. Plan, conduct, and follow up on internal and external audits. Manage certification, inspection, and incident reporting processes, ensuring lessons learned are shared organisation-wide. Ideal Candidate Profile:
Higher vocational education (Maritime) or equivalent. Minimum 5 years' maritime industry experience, with a proven track record in a QHSSE leadership role. Strong knowledge of international maritime safety and quality regulations (ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO). Relevant QHSSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) or willingness to obtain. Experience with OVMSA and supplier QHSSE performance management. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work across cultures. Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written. Willingness to travel internationally and occasionally work at sea.
