This Position reports to:

As the Global Product Group Manager for Motion at B&R – a member of the ABB Group, you are responsible for driving the long-term profitable growth, innovation, and ambitious strategic direction of our Motion business. You are driving innovations and solutions based on market requirements by managing the global Motion product portfolio consisting out of high-performance Servo drives, Inverters and Motors and a variety of Software solutions. Main stakeholders for our Global Product Group Manager would be both externally and internally across our organization among senior leaders within R&D, Operations, Sales and other.

The ideal candidate is located in (or open to relocate) Eggelsberg, Salzburg (Austria) or Frauenfeld (CH).

Key responsibilities:

• Portfolio Leadership: Direct the Motion Product Group’s portfolio strategy to achieve and sustain revenue targets, overseeing product development, market positioning, and pricing to meet growth targets.

• Global Strategy Execution: Lead end-to-end business management, from innovation and product adaptation to operational performance, ensuring alignment with ABB’s culture and standards.

• Product Development: Lead multidisciplinary research and product development teams to ensure clear prioritization between stable roadmap execution and agile reaction to changed market and customer requirements

• External Partnerships & Sales Enablement: Establish international partnerships with key suppliers and stakeholders, and collaborate with global sales to drive planning, pricing, and contract management.

• Team Leadership & Growth: Build and inspire an interdisciplinary team consisting of +100 Hardware and Software Developers, Product Managers and Quality Engineers promoting an inclusive culture that encourages high performance, agility, and continuous development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or similar; MBA is a plus. Brings 10–15 years of experience as a Senior Business Leader.

Proven track record in managing large Product Development and Product Management teams (50+ FTEs), especially in Motion Drives or Machine Automation.

Deep technical and commercial experience with strong exposure to European, Chinese, and US machine automation markets.

Thrives in autonomous roles with high accountability; skilled in driving innovation, fostering multicultural collaboration, and executing global strategies in both hardware and software.

Strong communicator in English (German is a plus); passionate about leadership and open to traveling up to 50% to HQ in Eggelsberg, Austria.
