The Chief Operating Office, Global Operations
The Chief Operating Office (COO) strengthens Wells Fargo's risk and control infrastructure, delivers a more consistent approach to line of business operations, and delivers effective and efficient enterprise services to our employees and customers. The top priority of the COO is to help strengthen the company’s risk and control infrastructure.
The Global Operations (GO) group is responsible for refining processes and redesigning business operations by efficiently utilizing resources to exceed customer requirements and service. Our mission is to integrate, transform, and strengthen the enterprise through automation, risk mitigation, effective controls, and state of the art technological solutions to operate at an optimal level.
Global Operations enables a more consistent, effective, and efficient delivery of products and services to customers across contact centers, payments, and other processes. Working closely with the businesses they support, Global Operations drives efficiency and risk mitigation through process simplification, functional consolidation, automation, and effective controls. The main groups that make up Global Operations are Consumer Lending Operations, Consumer, Small & Business Banking Operations, Wholesale Operations, Shared Services Operations, and Fraud and Claims Management.
Operations goal is to build a more unified, more integrated approach to Wells Fargo's business operations functions focused on enhancing our operational excellence, meeting our regulatory remediation efforts, and better serving customers.
The Role
The Global Operations Head of Quality Assurance, Business Accountability Executive will manage and develop multiple business functional areas with focus on implementing and delivering long-term strategies, policies, and process advancements for cross-functional stakeholders, and internal and external partners associated with the area of Quality Assurance and who are affected by its outcomes. This leader will make decisions, in conjunction with the GO leadership team, regarding the prioritization, solutions and execution of cross-GO strategic initiatives, lead the day-to-day management of team(s) driving those initiatives and deliver solutions that are fit-for-purpose, long-term, large-scale, and require vision, creativity, innovation, and advanced analytical and inductive thinking and drive expense reduction and/or risk and control enhancements through redesign of roles and responsibilities, creating appropriate cross-Ops consistency.
Through deep knowledge of the regulatory and control environment, as well as organizational design and systemic efficiency expertise this leader will recruit, coach, develop, and effectively allocate senior talent to meet business objectives, review and analyze complex larger-scale or longer-term challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including market trends, financial opportunity, competitive landscape, intangibles or unprecedented factors, communicate opportunities, data insights, strategy, and related solutions/business plans to executive management, make decisions in complex situations that influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives partner closely with other functions (e.g., Control, IRM, Tech and Finance) and Lines of Business given impact of Ops Synergies on client facing businesses, collaborate strategically and consult with all levels to resolve issues and achieve goals.
Responsibilities include:
Provide vision and set direction for multiple high impact initiatives and teams to achieve long-term strategic objectives that impact organization and management across functions; collaborate with peers and senior leaders to develop highly complex, multi-year projects, strategies, goals, and business ventures related to risk mitigation.Provide thought leadership to develop and implement strategic solutions for highly complex and potentially companywide business challenges.Lead a team of managers and senior professionals and develop longer-term, higher-risk strategies for risk mitigation function to achieve business objectives.Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including peers and senior leaders.Engage and influence business heads, regulators, control management, risk, legal, and audit partners to successfully ensure appropriate management of business risk.Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in business group.Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.Required Qualifications:
8+ years of risk management, business controls, or compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.4+ years of management experience.Desired Qualifications:
Significant experience leading an Operations Quality Assurance program in a large, matrixed, global organization.Proven Direct Management experience of a quality assurance operations team of 300+Significant exposure and experience dealing with regulatory agencies and internal audit assessments and meeting regulatory requirements and/or working in regulated environments.Experience identifying risk factors and ensuring enactment of appropriate controlsStrong Exam, Audit, and testing support experienceExperience developing KRI reporting analysis and recommendation to senior leadersExperience presenting/preparing executive summaries, whitepapers, and presentations for executive management, senior leaders, board members and regulators.Proven success recruiting, inspiring, developing, coaching and motivating team members through balanced leadership with a focus on team member engagement, retention and performance management.Influence and collaboration skills to achieve solutions that meet the needs of the organization; able to resolve issues, and overcome obstacles.Demonstrated experience leading large and complex enterprise-level initiatives.Ability to be proactive, innovative and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs.Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.Strong partnership/collaboration skills.Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas and/or data simply and craft clear and compelling stories for executive engagement and influenceProven success attracting, leading, and engaging a diverse team with different levels of experience across multiple geographies and creating a culture of service and efficiency.Bachelor’s degree.MBA or other master’s degree.Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
