Global Meeting & Events Procurement Manager

We are looking for a Global Meeting & Events Procurement Manager with a profound knowledge of the Travel Industry, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions along with its operational dynamics to join us in our Procurement team. This is a hybrid position based in our Smyrna, GA office.

 

About the role

You will play a crucial role in supporting the Procurement Lead by actively managing the execution of the Meeting & Events Policy that align with the business, consistently deliver value, optimize commercial leverage, mitigate risks, promote sustainability, and execute effectively with suppliers, striking a balance between investment and results.

 

Who you’ll work with

You will work with Business Services / T&E Category Lead to facilitate co-ordination across FFG category in the areas of Sustainability, Preferred Vendor, Buying Channel, and Supplier Relationship management, along with other internal and external stakeholders.

 

What you’ll do

Engage in sourcing and negotiation, Supplier Relationship Management, strategic alignment, risk management, cost optimization, and collaborative thinking to enhance UCB’s effectivenessNegotiate the MICE related contracts in his/her area of responsibilityBuild solid relationships with the extended stakeholder eco-system to fully understand the business and their requirements. Advocate the existing Meeting & Events Booking Platforms and enable an improved stakeholder experienceAlign with the Procurement Lead on negotiation strategies for projectsEngage with the COE on analyticsSupport the Sustainability & Risk department in the relationship with the suppliers in their whelm of influenceComply with existing regulatory and audit requirementsTranslate the Meeting & Events Policy within the businessDrives the Meeting & Events from a Procurement sideSupplier SegmentationIdentify potential suppliers by applying target vendor lists or supporting in the identification of alternativesHandle Full Request for Information / Request for Quote processes with excellence using the procurement vetted toolsConsider the market trends, the competitive landscape and the dynamics around the supply marketsEnsure collaboration with the Legal department for setting up the appropriate termsEnsure collaboration with Strategic Meeting Solutions LeadNegotiate Terms and Conditions with suppliersSafeguards the KPI’s and SLA’s as negotiated in the contractsEnsure sustainability is included as a criteria for Supplier selectionApprove POs (within threshold), and other compliance activities as defined by different SOPs and governance bodies

Minimum requirements

Bachelor's Degree Minimum 10 years of experience in a Meeting & Events / Procurement related role such as travel agencies, airlines, meeting and event agencies, or corporate travel management.Fluent in English

 

Preferred requirements

Collaborative, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic environmentStrong negotiation skills and ability to build lasting supplier relationshipsManaging procurement projects, timelines, and deliverablesProficient in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts, understanding of legal terms and implicationProficiency in data analysis and procurement software.Great communication skills - ability to think creatively, engage in effective communication and promote change with internal stakeholders and suppliersTeam player, fostering diversity and inclusion, capable of operating in cross-functional, cultural teams

This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $124,000 to $162,800 per year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
