Your Role: Own the Challenge
The Global Media Relations and Public Affairs Manager for B&R, a member of the ABB group, will be responsible for shaping and executing B&R’s media relations strategy on a global scale. This role will enhance B&R’s reputation, manage crisis communication, and drive public awareness through impactful content across multiple media channels.
In this pivotal role, success will be assessed using comprehensive metrics such as media reach, share of voice, quality of coverage, and sentiment analysis. These measures will guide strategic decisions, ensuring that B&R’s media relations not only gain visibility but also foster positive perceptions and sustained engagement across global audiences.
Main stakeholders are journalists globally, with a focus on trade media, Division Management, Division Communications Experts in the Regions/Countries. The candidate will collaborate with ABB’s external communications and media relations teams and act as the public voice of B&R, fostering relationships with media and industry thought leaders.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Develop and implement a global media relations strategy, securing high profile placements in print, broadcast and online media, taking into account all channels relevant to media relations, including social media.
Create and distribute press releases and orchestrate the creation and distribution of regional and/or local releases.
Manage relationships with media and industry influencers, acting as a spokesperson for B&R and support business growth through strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising initiatives.
Collaborate with ABB Comms teams as well as B&R teams to drive aligned communication strategies. You will join a dynamic team that is currently being built up, where you will be able to thrive.
What it takes to Run what runs the world
You have 12+ years of experience in international public relations, preferably a mix of corporate/agency experience in a technology-focused industry, including leadership experience.
Proven expertise in designing and executing successful media campaigns at various scales
Have a demonstrated track record in in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with experience as a company spokesperson.
Proficient in social media management, digital content creation, and event planning.
You are at ease communicating (C2 proficiency) in English and German (written and verbal communication)
Able to work effectively in a matrixed, global organization, with cross-functional and intercultural collaboration skills

In accordance with the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry in Austria, the minimum salary for this position is € 4.762,59 gross per month as of May 2025. There is a clear willingness to offer compensation above the collectively agreed minimum salary, depending on qualifications and experience.
