Global Market Liaison (VP, Media Strategy)

As with any large organization, there are several layers of relationship: where the budget and media plans, investment decisions, and activations to customers are delivered. The Global Market Liaison will bring the best of the US market to multiple collaborators across the client ecosystem. The GML will partner with the Global and US client agency teams to ensure strategies are delivered, scaled, and merchandised. They will lead queries from Global teams into the US to ensure timely and insightful responses on behalf of the market and conversely share the best of the US market work, new insights, and proactive opportunities to the Global teams. The GML will have a deep understanding of the US market landscape and activities and be able to merchandise great work internally and to the client. They will be connected and collaborate on behalf of all capabilities in the market and unify and partner with other GML in three other key markets to merchandise the overall perception of client capabilities around the world. The role will reside within the US but be accountable to the client’s Global MX Team. As such it will have two reporting lines, the US MX Media Strategy Lead and the Global MX Media Lead. **Responsibilities** **Overall Responsibilities** + Connected communication with seamless working practices and relationships + Develop a fluid and supportive communication network across all the various stakeholders within the Global Media team, US agency team, and clients as requested. Extended connections across Creative, CRM, Production, and Data and Analytics. + Develop strong working relationships with key Global Team members to seamlessly manage task requests to the right owner, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery of requests. + Ability to craft strong stories and merchandise great work + Drive awareness of Local work and initiatives to Global stakeholders such as local strategies, data/insight led examples, case studies, innovation, technology or firsts. + Craft case studies on US initiatives for Global sharing as well as internal and external awards. + Share US successes and takeaways through work and insights, making it easy to scale and reapply best practices to other markets. + Provide detailed information and understanding on US market intelligence, Category and Telecommunications client behaviors that may influence or impact decisions, delivery and performance of campaigns within market. + Act as the Global Solutions and Governance provider for the US market + Oversee delivery and alignment of Globally developed strategies, activation and innovations for the US, and adherence of US stakeholders to ensure campaign delivery is in line with global directives. + Be responsible for implementation of Global campaign results (such as media checklists, brief, strategy overview, media plan and PCA overview). + Provide timely proactive communication to Global stakeholders on campaign delivery, challenges and solutions. + Ensure Governance and accountability for the US team’s adherence to Telecommunications client processes. As such, provide internal training and support and be the ‘go to person’ on various Telecommunications client global solutions. **Qualifications** **Mindset & Skills** + A high energy committed individual who will bring momentum to the broader team in the local market. + A media strategy expert who can merchandise great work by crafting compelling stories through data and clearly articulate the contribution the work delivers to Telecommunications client to senior stakeholders. + Ability to understand all US market activities and be able to disseminate the pertinent information for the Global Teams proactively. + Ability to overcommunicate and drive a “network effect” – keeping all teams informed and staying on top of work in the US market, able to extract great thinking or work from your counterparts in other markets while also laddering what is working to clients and to Global teams. + Confident in presenting both internally and externally. + Ability to merchandise and sell-in US market strategy and plans. + Proactive, positive and well-informed, able to think quickly on your feet, and can defend their point of view in a complex environment with many partners. + Resilient operator who can accept challenging client feedback and produce better work as a result. + Ability to manage multiple workstreams with multiple stakeholders on an ongoing basis, continually pushing projects forward. + An innovation focused approach, fascinated by the ever-changing digital world and what’s possible for clients. + Thrives in a large, complex team with many stakeholders and excels at bridging different teams to solutions. **Qualifications** + 12+ years of experience in a media agency or similar setting. + A strong, well-rounded media practitioner, with senior experience within an agency as a lead in strategy/media planning, account planning, digital/data capabilities or similar role. + Deep understanding of the US media landscape, channels, platforms and technologies as well as local market regulations and legislation that affect media delivery. + Prefer experience managing large media budgets from Global clients into the US market. + Potential to travel internationally from time-to-time. **Additional information** Starcom is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Compensation Range: $146,490 - $230,460 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
