Global Manufacturing Chief of Staff

The Chief of Staff for Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME) serves as a strategic partner and advisor to the Global Manufacturing Engineering Leadership team, ensuring seamless execution of strategic initiatives, operational efficiency, and effective communication across the organization. This role is pivotal in steering organizational focus, driving cross-functional collaboration, and delivering high-impact workstreams with excellence. The Chief of Staff will also oversee a team that supports these initiatives, facilitating a cohesive and agile GME organization.

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

BSc, Engineering OR a related field Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a leadership role within manufacturing  Proven experience in strategic planning, project management, and process improvement Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Strong analytical skills and proficiency in relevant software applications Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles Familiarity with Virtual Engineering Transformation initiatives Experience with Structural and Cultural Transformation

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree (MS or MBA)

What you'll do...

 

 Strategic Planning & Execution:

Lead the development and implementation of Strategic Action Plans with the GME Leadership Team, aligning GME objectives with overall company goals. Lead annual Strategic Action Planning workshops. Lead Strategic Deployment Plan process and ensure successful objectives cascade across all of GME. Lead the development and implementation of GME Business Control Center (BCC) and Organizational BCCs. Develop standardized performance to objectives review cadence and process across all GME organizations. Ensure BCC rooms are updated and accurate. Lead key strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timely completion. Lead the planning, execution, and closure of projects aligned with strategic initiatives across all five GME organizations.

 Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency within the GME organization. Identify opportunities for cross-organizational synergies and commonization of processes and standards Prepare GME organizations for monthly Americas’ Manufacturing Operations Reviews and ensure timely filing or all required documentation. Bowler Charts Monthly Reviews Skill Team 2-Pagers Facilitate effective decision-making processes and ensure timely resolution of issues.

 Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Act as a liaison between the GME organization and other departments, ensuring alignment on strategic initiatives. Foster teamwork and collaboration between GME and organizational business management and administrative teams. Lead weekly alignment meetings to ensure support of critical forums Resolve conflicts and mitigate potential roadblocks to achieving strategic goals.

 Communication & Stakeholder Management:

Develop, maintain, and present Agenda Lookahead to align GME leadership and ensure preparation and participation for key Ford Executive Leadership Team Reviews. Develop and maintain agenda for weekly VP reviews. Weekly Lookahead with VP Americas Mfg VP Program Management Review (VP PMR) Maintain Time & Data Management for all GME decision making reviews and alignment forums Maintain GME-owned forums in Meeting Cadence corporate tool Develop and implement communication plans to keep the GME organization informed and engaged. Enhance cross-organizational communication flow Maintain and enhance GME Homepage, GME Leadership Site, and GME Collaboration Site Prepare presentations, reports, and other communication materials for the GME Leadership Team and senior leaders. Schedule, coordinate, and prepare materials for GME Townhalls and GME Leadership Offsites Represent the GME organization and leaders in meetings and forums when requested, managing relationships with key external stakeholders. Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information. Develop internal and external communications strategies

People Leader Responsibilities:

Hire, lead, mentor and inspire a team of highly skilled team members Provide administrative support,  including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and handling correspondence. Lead the planning, execution, and closure of projects aligned with strategic initiatives across the GME organizations. Develop communication materials and implement strategies to keep the GME organization informed and engaged through internal and external (BlueOval Now, LinkedIn, etc.)
