Job Description


The Global ISM Telecoms Lead is responsible for the strategic oversight and implementation of telecommunications infrastructure across global sites. This role ensures robust, low-latency network connectivity to major cloud providers, enhances operational technology connectivity for robotics, and integrates network planning in the context of mergers and acquisitions. The lead will also oversee IPv6 enablement strategies, disaster recovery upgrades, and alignment with major telecommunications providers to meet the organization's needs, while establishing governance frameworks for network design.


Responsibilities


Cloud Connectivity: Ensure low latency network setups from site operations to major cloud providers and cloud applications (e.g., Manhattan Active) across all regions. Operational Technology Integration: Establish standard network connectivity patterns for robotics globally, ensuring alignment with security and resiliency requirements. M&A Network Planning: Integrate network planning needs arising from M&A activities and special customer setups, including government cloud requirements (CMMC) for defense customers. IPv6 Migration Planning: Develop a strategic plan for IPv6 enablement of our sites, applications and infrastructure, focusing on cost-effective technology upgrades through an \"upgrade by attrition\" approach. Disaster Recovery & Resilience: Lead initiatives for disaster recovery network setups (e.g., on-premise/Azure cloud) and oversee IT asset and network device management, ensuring alignment with division-specific needs. Telecommunications Optimization: Realign major telecommunications providers (e.g., BT) to meet organizational requirements and steer interests towards effective procurement and ITS strategies. Network Design and Governance: Develop and enforce governance frameworks for network design to ensure compliance with corporate policies and best practices. Establish standards for network architecture that promote scalability, security, and performance across all global sites. Monitor adherence to governance policies and provide guidance for continuous improvement in network design and implementation processes.

·Develop and implement the telecommunications infrastructure strategy in alignment with business objectives and Group policies. Lead the preparation and execution of network service plans, budgets, and measures to achieve defined results.

·Propose and implement infrastructure optimization and automation solutions.

·Create and maintain standards and procedures for efficient network operations and management.

·Analyze complex network issues, benchmark performance, and introduce best practices to enhance service quality and efficiency.

·Collaborate with senior business leaders and external service providers to influence practices and negotiate favorable terms.

·Communicate and influence senior business leaders across DHL to adopt network strategies and practices.

·Develop strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment of telecommunications strategies with business goals.

·Coordinate with third-party service providers to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency

·Manage a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by Managers and/or Team Leaders. Provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure departmental goals are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.


Required Education and Experience
