Global Investment Banking - Corporate Finance Advisory Analyst/Associate

As an Analyst/Associate within the Corporate Finance Advisory team, you will be a key player in the firm's Investment Banking business. The Corporate Finance Advisory (CFA) group is a global multi-disciplinary team focused on differentiating JPMorgan's investment banking services. It is comprised of experts in corporate finance, M&A, financing solutions, tax, accounting, structured products and derivatives. The group sits in between the industry coverage teams and product teams (Equity/Debt Capital Markets, Derivatives, etc.) and focuses on complex or special situations that may require a novel solution or cross-sector analytics. This may include capital structure/capital allocation, structured M&A/strategic alternatives, creative financing solutions, or positioning clients for disruptive events or emerging trends. 

We are seeking for candidates based in Tokyo, but we can also be flexible if the candidate must be based in Hong Kong.

 

Job responsibilities

Produce quantitative and qualitative analysis to make broader financing and capital structure recommendations Assess financial implications of a wide range of transactions and associated capital structures Participate in complex deal structuring for both M&A and capital raising transactions Conduct industry and product research, including producing content around trending topics Perform financial analysis using industry standard and proprietary models Build financial models to address problems in relation to capital structure, credit ratings and financing solutions Learn and interacting with J.P. Morgan's clients, products, services, and business practices Prepare presentation materials and participating in deal pitches Execute client transactions from start to closing

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Native or business/professional level Japanese language skills is required Existing experience in investment banking, capital markets or sales & trading Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skill Intellectual curiosity and ability to “think outside the box” Adaptable, able to manage projects independently and ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a productive member of a team

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Undergraduate degree in the sciences, engineering, or finance is strongly preferred Graduate degree in similar fields or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) holder will be a plus
