Job Description:

As bp transitions to an integrated energy company, we must adapt to a changing world and maintain driven performance. Bp's customers & products (C&P) business area is setting up a business and technology centre (BTC) in Pune, India. This will support the delivery of an enhanced customer experience and drive innovation by building global capabilities at scale, maximising  technology, and developing deep expertise. The BTC will be a core and connected part of our business, bringing together colleagues who report into their respective part of C&P, working together with other functions across bp. About the role:

As the Global Insights Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplinary analytics team responsible for delivering strategic, scalable, and actionable insights across global business units and functions. You will drive the transformation of data into intelligence, enabling informed decision-making and operational excellence. This role requires deep expertise in data analytics, agile leadership, and collaborator engagement across functions, markets, and geographies!

 

Key Accountabilities:
 
Strategic Leadership & Team Management

Lead and mentor a global, cross-functional analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Define and implement the global insights' strategy aligned with business priorities and digital transformation goals.

Champion the adoption of advanced analytics, AI/ML, and data science capabilities across the enterprise

Analytics & Intelligence Delivery

Be responsible for the design and implementation of end-to-end analytics solutions, from data ingestion to insight generation.

Translate complex business challenges into analytical frameworks and models that drive measurable outcomes.

Ensure the delivery of high-quality, timely, and relevant insights through dashboards, reports, and predictive models.


Data Governance & Frameworks

Collaborate with data architects and governance leads to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across platforms.

Support the development and maintenance of centralized data lakes and modeling frameworks to enable scalable analytics.


Agile Execution & Change Management

Act as a product owner or scrum master for key analytics initiatives, ensuring agile delivery and customer alignment.

Lead the analytics change backlog, prioritizing initiatives that deliver incremental business value.

Lead change management efforts to embed insights into business processes and decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

Partner with senior leaders across Performance Units, Functions, and Markets to identify insight needs and co-create solutions.

Serve as a trusted advisor on data-driven decision-making, influencing strategic direction through evidence-based insights.


Capability Building & Knowledge Sharing

Drive analytics literacy and upskilling across the organization through training, mentoring, and best practice sharing.

Promote a global analytics community of practice to cultivate innovation and knowledge exchange.


 

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Data Science, Engineering, IT, or related field;

15+ years of proven experience in leading analytics teams and delivering insights for global transformation program. Plus 8+ Years of strong team handling experience

Deep understanding of data modeling, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques.

Proficiency in tools such as Python, Power BI, SQL, and cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Experience working across time zones and managing virtual, cross-functional teams.

 

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and influencing skills across diverse stakeholder groups.

Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.

Expertise in agile methodologies and product lifecycle management.

Excellent communication and storytelling skills to translate data into business impact.

Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to scale global frameworks to local needs.
