Global Head of Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCM)

To be successful we would like to expand our team and therefore are looking for a Global Head of Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCM) (f/m/d).

Your role will significantly contribute to the company’s decarbonization goals by developing strategic scenarios for SCM, aligning them with key stakeholders and building robust business cases to support financial investment decisions.

You will report to the position Global Vice President Global Decarbonization and will lead a team of highly experienced managers and experts. Your place of work will be Heidelberg, Germany. 

 

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE  

Lead a highly professional Global SCM Team to deliver high-impact results. 

Define SCM target ambition proposals for country roadmaps aligned with overarching Board directives in close collaboration with group functions and regions/countries. 

Initiate and coordinate key (cross-border) projects with countries and in close alignment with involved group functions to secure and increase SCM volumes. 

Enable levers from organic growth to M&A (establishing partnerships, Joint Ventures).

Review and optimize existing supply relationships in close alignment with group functions (technical & procurement). 

Establish supply risk management portfolios globally. 

Get involved along the entire outside and inside value chain: demand specification, market intelligence, availability/supply options, partnership/JV, negotiations, execution. 

Follow up, track and push initiatives of the CO2 Roadmap and beyond. 

Develop and ensure continuous reporting on progress for top-level management. 

 

YOUR PROFILE  

Preferably university degree in business administration, or engineering. 

Minimum 8 years management experience in leading operational and international/strategic roles. 

Strong leadership skills and management experience. 

Very good understanding (both technical and commercial) of SCM. 

Proven track record in M&A and international negotiation skills. 

Very good communication skills. 

Fluent in English and German – verbal and written. 

Intercultural understanding and strong experience in working with international teams.  

Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 40-60%).
