The Opportunity:
The Global Head of Reconciliation Technology will lead a critical function Reconciliations and Fee Billing within Markets Operations Technology, overseeing reconciliation processes across multiple business units and geographic locations. This senior leadership role involves managing a team of 100 professionals globally, handling over 4000 reconciliation processes, overseeing a c25 million USD budget and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role holder will drive technological innovation, business strategy to optimize reconciliation operations and thereby minimizing run-the-bank costs.
This role is responsible to lead a team across five locations - UK, France, Canada, China, and India ably supported by business support teams across the bank.
What you’ll do:
Evaluate, recommend, and implement innovative reconciliation technologies, including cloud-based solutions like AWS, TLM, and Duco.Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate reconciliation systems with broader banking technologies.Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in reconciliation technologies and apply them to improve operations.Ensure all reconciliation processes comply with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.Develop and maintain risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with reconciliation operations.Collaborate with compliance and risk management teams to ensure the integrity and security of reconciliation data.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, regulators, and cross-functional teams.Communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders regarding reconciliation strategies, progress, and challenges.Represent the bank in industry forums and conferences related to reconciliation technology.Implement the Technology Strategy and maintenance of reconciliation systems. This includes ensuring that systems are reliable, scalable, and compliant with the risk management framework.Implementing new Reconciliations and ensuring the existing reconciliations are suitably supported.Drive innovation and continuous improvements.Manage budgets and resources, ensuring that technology investments are aligned with business goals, and managing project costsTeamwork
Build and maintain the broad and diverse set of skills required to run the team.Provide strategic direction, leadership, support, guidance, and management for the team.Functional leadership of IT managers and ensure best practices for team management.Strategic engagement with key 3rd parties and vendors to ensure a strong partnership is established for the strategic benefit of the Bank.Establish a robust communication and support mechanism across Technology and Business teams. Ensure the necessary resources are sourced to support demand.Ensure there is a strong colleague development framework in place including succession planning, diversity balance, nurturing, coaching, skills development, and career progression.
