YOUR ROLE

his role will reside within Global CS Engineering Organization, as a control and coordination role to establish standard processes and to ensure best practices across global CS teams; ensuring all requirements for Functional Safety are met and aligned with the customer expectations. 

Communication with company management to support the establishment of the mandatory safety culture (ISO26262:2018, part 2, functional safety as corporate philosophy)Representation on global functional safety management corporate levelProvision of valid standards and company-specific application guidelines, main focus on process (not technical) aspectsConsolidating processes, best practices for proper global alignmentInternal auditing of organizational units to determine degree of adherence to internal and external FSM related regulationsUpdating and further development of corporate functional safety processes, integration of requirements from ISO 26262 in product development process (PDP) in alignment with regional functional safety managersProvision of training standards and guidelinesProvide guidance on escalated Functional Safety Topics, and escalate safety items to global program management director and global vice president of engineeringVerification that process tailoring is correctly performed and is acceptableDefinition of project responsibilities for entire system and detailed responsibilities (if necessary, delegation or grouping of activities)Ensuring that Assessments and Audits of Functional Safety (scheduling, timing, organization) are performed by regional organizationsApplication of measures for the avoidance of systematic non-conformitiesAll safety-relevant internal and external interfaces (e.g. with customers, suppliers and other business units)Cooperation with Quality Management in the various development phases with respect to process / project / productManaging Functional Safety team members assigned as direct reports

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

Responsible for establishing CS Functional Safety processes/requirements and coordinating with the regional teams to support regional projects and assessments as required.  Ensure timely and accurate communication with key stakeholders/customers as needed.

ISO 26262 expert knowledge, rules and processesMore than 3 years project safety management experienceMore than 2 years safety analysis experienceMore than 5 years automotive product development experienceElectronics project development experience > 5 yearsSoft skills of a group leader to lead functional teams requiredHighly motivated, independent work style; very flexible and results orientedAnalytical approach to problem solvingTeam player with good communication skills and sense of responsibilityLanguage English
