Job Responsibilities:
About the Role: The Global Director, Investigations is responsible for overseeing and managing a Global Team of Investigators, leading complex internal investigations into allegations of misconduct, fraud, or policy violations within an organization, ensuring investigations are conducted thoroughly, ethically, and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, while also recommending corrective actions and policy improvements based on findings; often working closely with Legal, Compliance, and HR Departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading Investigations:
Oversee Magna’s global investigation system – Navex, for all non-HR mattersLead the triage of all cases that come into the Navex systemAssign and supervise Investigators on complex cases, including witness interviews, document review, and evidence collectionConduct high-profile or sensitive investigations independentlyDevelop investigative strategies, timelines, and reporting protocolsAnalyze data and identify potential areas of concernTeam Management:
Recruit, hire, and train InvestigatorsProvide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to team membersFoster a culture of ethical investigative practices within the teamReporting and Analysis:
Prepare comprehensive investigative reports detailing findings, conclusions, and recommendationsPresent findings to relevant Stakeholders, including Senior Management, Legal Counsel, and Human ResourcesPrepare monthly and quarterly reports to the Vice President, Internal Audit for presentation to Senior Management, Investigations Oversight Committee, Magna Compliance Council, and the Audit CommitteeCompliance and Legal Oversight:
Ensure investigations adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policiesCollaborate with Legal and Compliance complex legal issues arising during investigationsPolicy Development:
Review and recommend improvements to internal investigation procedures and guidelinesPartner with Compliance for training programs to educate employees on company policies and reporting mechanismsWho we are looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher5-10+ years Director experienceAbility to think strategically and problem-solve using innovative approachesAnalytical thinking and problem-solving abilityComfort with ambiguity and fluid projects/assignmentsOutstanding verbal and written communication skills, with moderate to high level technical skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Drive for results and ability to network and collaborate cross-functionallyRequired Skills and Qualifications:
Extensive experience in conducting investigations in a corporate settingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to interview witnesses and interact with StakeholdersKnowledge of Legal principles and Regulatory Compliance requirementsProven leadership abilities to manage a team of InvestigatorsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionYour preferred qualifications:
