Description
We're hiring for a Controller role with a thriving, fast-paced retail and ecommerce company based in Los Angeles. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and hands-on finance professional to oversee accounting operations across a growing international business.
As the Controller, you'll report directly to the CFO and play a critical role in driving financial accuracy, implementing strong internal controls, and scaling the business across multiple entities in the U.S. and beyond. You'll also lead and mentor a talented accounting team, all while shaping processes for long-term growth and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee all global accounting operations, including retail store locations, inventory accounting, and payroll processes.
+ Lead the global financial close process, including consolidations and intercompany eliminations.
+ Develop and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and international accounting standards.
+ Manage a high-performing accounting team, providing mentorship and fostering collaboration.
+ Implement and optimize systems and processes to support company growth.
+ Prepare accurate financial statements and lead efforts for audits and statutory reporting.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders across FP& A, tax, legal, and operations to provide financial insights for decision-making.
+ Support global treasury and cash management efforts.
+ Assist with special projects, including M& A initiatives and process improvements.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
+ Public audit foundation and CPA license required
+ 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in a publicly traded retail or ecommerce operation.
+ Proven leadership experience as a Controller in a senior accounting role.
+ Expertise in US GAAP and international accounting standards as well as strong inventory experience and SOX knowledge.
+ Strong process improvement skills and a strategic mindset; thrives in fast-paced environments.
+ Exceptional communication skills and experience leading and developing a team.
