Global Commodity Manager, Power, Google Cloud

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line. As a Global Commodity Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of supplier development and ongoing performance management regarding Google's technology and business needs. You will help to develop and execute Google's material acquisition strategy and reduce total cost of ownership for AI/ML, servers, storage, and networking hardware, in support of our infrastructure deployment Google's services. You will be expected to lead and participate in large projects, as well as understand and resolve issues that put company objectives at risk. You will be a part of a supply chain team that drives continuous improvement and ensures operational excellence in support of Google's growth. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible. + Support cross-functional teams through supplier selection process and capacity planning for new platforms. + Support negotiations and secure comprehensive agreements with suppliers. + Maintain industry knowledge and keep stakeholders aware of supplier and market conditions. + Support development of long-term sourcing strategies for Power hardware (e.g., Tray/Rack Power, Batteries) and implement supply chain improvements. + Manage supplier relationships and performance in technology alignment, cost, quality, and delivery.
