EMEA CLO Structuring Associate
Goldman Sachs is a leading global financial institution, and our CLO business is an integral part of the Structured Finance business which sits in the Capital Solutions Group within the Global Banking and Markets Division.
The CLO team originates, structures and syndicates collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and other corporate loan portfolio securitizations, provides warehouse financing and advises CLO managers on capital solutions.
Our global CLO business operates across the Americas, EMEA and Asia with team members in London and New York. We work closely with colleagues across Goldman Sachs’ Global Banking and Markets Division including Fund Finance, Leveraged Finance, Leveraged Loan & High Yield Bond Trading and CLO Secondary Trading. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our EMEA business, based in London.
Key Responsibilities
As an Associate in the CLO team, you will be pivotal in driving the execution of CLO transactions. Your responsibilities will include:
In-depth financial modeling to evaluate economics of new issues, refinancings, and reset CLO transactionsRating agency modelling and documentation negotiation to optimize capital structure for issuer clientsInvestor Q&A including documentation stip negotiation process during general syndicationDrafting of internal credit committee memos and approval documentationAssist in the negotiation and reviews of warehouse facility agreementsEffective end-to-end CLO lifecycle project management (from warehouse open to CLO close)Assist in evaluation of opportunities in private credit CLOs and other corporate loan portfolio securitizationsCreating marketing materials for client pitches and investor presentations
Qualifications
We are looking for a proactive and experienced professional with a strong understanding of CLO or ABS products and markets. Top candidates will possess:
Experience: 2 – 5 years of relevant work experience in CLO, ABS or structured financeTechnical Proficiency: Intex DealMaker / Calc, Moody’s CDO Edge, S&P CDO Evaluator and Cash Flow Evaluator, Fitch Asset Workbook & Cashflow Model, Advanced Microsoft Office skillset (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a proactive commitment to teamwork and client service. Proactivity and a solutions-oriented mindset are a must.Market Understanding: Understanding of the legal structures and documents involved in a CLO/ABS transactionProject Management: Proven transaction and project management skills, specifically experience managing CLO/ABS transactions.
