Kforce has a client in Fairfax, VA that is seeking a GL Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* General Ledger Management:
* Oversee daily GL operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments
* Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure proper classification of transactions
* Ensure all GL activities comply with US GAAP (or applicable accounting standards)
Month-End & Year-End Close:
* Manage the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is accurate
* Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the accounting team
* Coordinate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
* Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Provide variance analysis and commentary for management reports
* Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries
Leadership & Team Development:
* Supervise, mentor, and train GL staff
* Set performance goals and provide regular feedback
* Foster a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Compliance & Process Improvement:
* Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
* Support system upgrades, integrations, and automation initiatives
