GL Accountant - Europe
**Meaningful Work From Day One** This role performs Record to Report (R2R) functions (closing, balance sheet reconciliation, cash flow, fixed assets, accruals) for US GAAP, local statutory, and management reporting compliance. The role partners with Europe Commercial and Finance teams on business decisions, establishes local policies, ensures internal controls, and improves accounting processes. **What You Can Expect** Support financial accounting, reporting & analysis activities associated with the assigned countries including monthly, quarterly, and annual year-end accounting and closing activities, as well as all relevant ledger activities. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, partnering closely with the business by providing advice on accounting and compliance matters and leading the implementation of new systems, special projects, and accounting standards for the region. This position will also support Accounting Manager in process improvements and ad hoc analysis for these markets. (A) Operational Support (R2R): + General Ledger related activities, including but not limited to monthly, quarterly, and annual year-end accounting and closing activities, as well as all internal and external reporting. + Accruals for A&P, SGA, COS and Discounts in close cooperation with the Marketing, Sales and Finance team. + Monthly/quarterly/yearly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline, assist CAM in Balance Sheet Flux explanation. + Material Ledger monthly closing procedure (including review of the correctness COGS & Revenue recognition). + Fixed assets management and depreciation postings. + FX revaluation - reconciliation between US GAAP and Local requirements, adjustments postings for local GAAP. + Review expense classification/ treatment and provide guidance to the ItP team and to the organization Ensure all expenses are valid and classify correctly. + Manage all MSA recharges and intercompany billing and reconciliations by partnering with the Corporate Accounting and Tax. (B) Cross-Department Support: collaborate with other departments as needed to support functions. (C) Audit Support: assist in external or internal audits. Respond to inquiries regarding financial results or special reporting requests. (D) Tax Support: VAT preparation details for tax filing (EU). **What You Bring to the Table** + 3+ years experience in an accounting function with similar responsibilities. + Advanced Excel skills. + Solid understanding of accounting principles and concepts. + Strong Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local tax regulations. + Bilingual, fluent in English (spoken and written) + French, German or other European language. + Strong interpersonal skills. + High level of integrity and trust. + High energy level, ability to work independently, attention to details and multi-task effectively in a service organization. **What Makes You Unique** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. + Experience in the FMCG or liquor industry. + Experience working with SAP or similar ERP platforms. + Good knowledge of MS office Suite and G Suite (Google Sheets, Docs and Slides). **Who We Are** We believe great people build great brands.
