Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled GIS Technician Support professional to assist in updating and maintaining geographic information system (GIS) data. This role involves interpreting field data, updating equipment attributes, and ensuring accurate mapping of utility infrastructure. The technician will work closely with engineering and field teams to reflect system changes and support project initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesInterpret work order job sketches to update GIS data for equipment installations, transfers, and removals.Update equipment attributes including transformer size and serial numbers.Establish equipment associations such as linking customer meters to corresponding transformers.Execute project-based updates involving multiple equipment locations due to new data, modeling changes, or error corrections.Import and integrate data files (AutoCAD, PDF, JPEG, etc.) into GIS systems.Perform updates to AutoCAD databases as required.Document all activities and maintain accurate records of changes and updates.Prepare meeting summaries and contribute to project documentation as needed.Ensure accurate map updates according to the assigned GIS Technician level and project standards.Essential SkillsProficiency in GIS software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS) and AutoCAD.Experience interpreting technical sketches and utility infrastructure data.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge in drafting and modeling.Familiarity with CAD software.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
