Job Description

The GIS Technician will be responsible for data mining, managing large file structures, performing geometric fixes, and orthorectification. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of GIS principles and be proficient in handling and processing spatial data. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential for ensuring the accuracy and quality of the data.

ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and interpret satellite imagery to create accurate and detailed maps.Digitize and georeference satellite images to integrate them into GIS databases.Collaborate with project teams to provide spatial analysis and mapping support.Maintain and update GIS databases with new satellite imagery and related data.Ensure the accuracy and quality of digitized maps and spatial data.Utilize GIS software and tools to perform spatial analysis and generate reports.Stay updated with the latest advancements in GIS technology and satellite imagery processing.Essential SkillsProficiency in ArcGISStrong understanding of GIS principlesExperience with feature extraction and geospatial analysisAttention to detailProblem-solving skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred, Associate's degree acceptableExperience with Esri and GeographyWork Environment

This position offers the flexibility to work from home or in an office if preferred. The role is independent and not team-oriented. The dress code is laid back, with options ranging from jeans and a tee-shirt to business casual attire. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with the option to work four 10-hour shifts if that suits the candidate better.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
