German Associate Marketing Manager, Retail

Job Description

Working in close collaboration with retail team, brand team and sales teams, you’re in charge of planning, implementing and
monitoring the marketing activities, according to each retailer’s specific catalog of activities and based on experience and
past performance. You dedicate your market knowledge and retail expertise to increase brand awareness in each country,
drive conversion at key retailers, and contribute to maintain brand leading position in the respective categories.

Key Responsibilities:

 

PLANNING

• Based on the available marketing budget for each country, build an overall marketing plan for the year, taking into consideration the peak periods for each product category, the promotional calendar from Sales, the potential NPD launches, etc.

• Define specific KPIs for each retailer and/or the category, based on the global business objectives.

• After alignment with all stakeholders, propose a list of activities at each retailer including precise implementation timing and SKU/category in focus.

• Liaise with each retailer’s buying/marketing department to book the activity accordingly and keep track of the key milestones (booking deadline, asset submission, payment, go-live date).

• Review and fine-tune the plan on a quarterly basis to adapt to ad-hoc priorities, sales performance, etc

  IMPLMENTING

• Once an activity is booked, gather all assets, copy and other elements needed for the activity to be implemented.

• If the activity requires a specific asset, follow our internal artwork creation process: brief preparation with brand team, brief submission to Creative team, asset approval via specific internal platform.

• Share all necessary assets with the POC at the retailer and request approval. • Once the activity is set-up and ready to go-live, inform all stakeholders.

MONITORING

• Make sure that all activities go live as planned, search/ask for proof and share it with all stakeholders.

• Track results and assess performance of each activity against the pre-defined KPIs

• Prepare and lead QBR presentations with all stakeholders, sharing top-line insights on past/ongoing activities and overall brand performance at each retailer.

• Plan recurring meetings with retail team and Sales team to share updates on activities status and performance

Experience/Technical Skills

Education: University degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent.

Experience:

Retail experience in marketing, project management, or business development is essential.A minimum of 3-5 years of retail marketing experience is required.Experience in Sales is a plus.Experience managing Retail activities in the mass and electro channels is preferred.Experience presenting to and working with retail accounts like Boots, Argos, Tesco, Asda, Mediamarkt, DM, Müller, Rossmann is valuable.

Skills:

Previous budgeting exposure.Strong MS Office knowledge (especially PowerPoint and Excel).

Language: Fluent in German and English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
