Geotechnical Engineer
️ Geotechnical Engineer (Intermediate Level) Location: New York, NY | Full-Time | Engineering & Construction About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves both technical design and field oversight, with a strong emphasis on geotechnical analysis, regulatory compliance, and mentoring junior staff. Key Responsibilities + Develop scopes of work for proposals and project planning. + Review engineering design analyses including: + Allowable bearing pressures + Settlement and consolidation + Deep foundation systems + Liquefaction and seismic design + Slope stability and seepage + Support of excavation (SOE) + Supervise and mentor junior staff during subsurface explorations and technical reviews. + Prepare and review engineering reports in compliance with NYC Building Code and IBC-based codes. + Provide Special Inspection oversight for: + Deep foundation testing and installation + Subgrade inspection + Controlled fill and in-place density testing + Underpinning and SOE system installation Required Skills + Geotechnical engineering and analysis + OSHA safety standards + EIT certification (or PE preferred) + AutoCAD proficiency + Field inspection and design documentation Top Skills + Geotechnical Engineering + Geotechnical Analysis + OSHA Compliance + EIT Certification + AutoCAD Preferred Qualifications + Experience with geotechnical design and regulatory compliance + Proven oversight of deep foundation and excavation systems + Strong communication and report-writing skills Experience Level + Intermediate (3–5 years preferred) Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $63.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
