The GIS Engineer is responsible for managing and analyzing geospatial data related to investigation and refurbishment of sewage and wastewater networks. This role supports planning, maintenance, and operations by updating existing and / or producing accurate digital maps, reports, and data visualizations.
* Develop and maintain GIS databases for sewage and wastewater networks.
* Produce detailed and accurate digital maps showing the layout of pipelines, valves, and other infrastructure. Integrate updated data into GIS database after network repair / refurbishment.
* Collect, process, and analyze geospatial data from various sources including GPS, remote sensing, and field surveys.
* Conduct spatial analysis to support maintenance planning, asset management, and project execution.
* Maintain, update, and manage geodatabases to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
* Support the operation and maintenance teams with data visualization and spatial insights.
* Provide GIS support during planning, rehabilitation, and emergency response activities.
* Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to inform decision-making.
* Troubleshoot GIS-related issues and apply best practices for system optimization and performance.
