We are seeking a highly motivated Researcher to join our team. This role focuses on advancing the capabilities of large language models (LLMs), and vision-language models (VLMs), in generative CAD tasks. The ideal candidate will have a Masters, PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field, with a strong publication record in machine learning. A background in computational physics, computational design, mechanical engineering or related disciplines is considered a strong asset. As part of this role, you will contribute to the development of algorithms that utilize AI for generating the geometry of mechanical assemblies.
Location: Toronto.
Duration: 6-month project-based contract, with potential for extension.
Responsibilities
AI Algorithm Development: Develop and implement advanced generative AI algorithms to enhance CAD capabilities in design workflows
Prototype Development: Create prototypes to test and demonstrate the functionality of generative AI tools for CAD applications
Data Analysis: Analyze research data and user feedback to continually improve the performance and usability of AI tools
Collaborate with Research Scientists: Work closely with research scientists to translate complex concepts into clear and intuitive prototypes tools
Iterative Design & Feedback: Participate in iterative design processes, incorporating user feedback and research insights
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate Degree: Masters or PhD in machine learning, AI, or a related field
Publication record: A strong track record of publications in machine learning
Proficiency with modern ML frameworks: (e.g., PyTorch, JAX)
Transformers: Experience training and building transformer models
Geometry expertise: BREP and mesh geometry
Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or Java, with experience in AI/ML libraries and frameworks
Research Experience: Demonstrated experience in conducting research and developing innovative solutions in the field of AI and generative design
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into intuitive UI solutions
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment, communicating clearly with diverse team members
Preferred Qualifications
CAD Workflows: Familiarity with CAD software and principles, with experience in integrating AI solutions into CAD workflows
Mechanical design experience: Mechanical design experience, maker experience
Computational Physics experience: Simulation and solver development
