Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday
General Mechanic - Conveyor Belts Responsibilities:
This company provides replacement parts (rubber conveyor belts) which need to be customized to fit conveyor systems, machinery and other warehouse & Earth moving equipment. Parts include: customize rubber conveyor belts, custom fit straps and harnesses, custom rollers, bearings, etc. Training is provided. Supervises two Warehouse Associates / Helpers Performs "the actual work" needed to custom fit material to meet customer order. Uses slicing machine to cut large role of rubber conveyor belt amaterial to proper size. Sets up and operates machinery Assembles mechanical straps, harnesses and associated hardware. Attaches hardware to conveyor belts Prepares material for shipping and reviews order to ensure accuracy before loading onto customer truck or USPS/FedEx. Uses Forklift when needed. Uses variety of power and hand tools (company supplied) including shears, knives, drills, and other power cutting tools Works organized, works clean and maintains warehouse including cleaning up, putting excess material away, reducing scrap and minimizes errors Speaks with customers if needed to ask specific questions on order and double checks accuracy of dimensions when compared to past orders of similar scope. Educates customers on best practices, how to, and answers questions related to conveyor belt material Follows "5's" work model Performs inventory control Drives company truck Maintains close communication with Office Manager and answers questions related to billing and order accuracy.General Mechanic - Conveyor Belts Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Post-high school training or education is desirable but not required. At least three (3) years working in a related "mechanic" position Strong computer skills must include ability to enter data into computer, close out work orders, re-order parts/material and enter notes on customer accounts for future reference Friendly outgoing and customer service mindset is required as this person will regularly speak with our customers. Must be a self-starter type, take initiative and asks questions when not sure. We provide training on how we process orders, how to use our equipment, etc. but we need someone who does not look for shortcuts, takes pride in their work/craft and operates with honesty & integrity.
