This role is ideal for candidates who are comfortable in a physically active work environment and take pride in maintaining product integrity and operational flow.ResponsibilitiesPull Wires from the Bale:Cut wires opposite the knot of Greenleaf balesRemove cardboard slip sheets and wires at the cutting stationSort wires and cardboard into designated recycling binsEliminate any contaminants or debris that could harm equipment or product qualityRequest stacks of tops and bottoms for upcoming packaging runsBuild Boxes for Final Product:Inspect incoming cartons for any damage or supplier contaminationAssemble one top and one bottom to create a boxInsert required kraft paper or chipboard layers as needed per product typeApply appropriate pre-printed belly tag for labelingStage boxes on roller conveyors for downstream packingMaterial Handling:Remove stalks, off-color tobacco, and foreign materials (e.g., string, dirt, paper) from conveyorsAssist operators by cleaning machines, equipment, and surrounding workstationsShovel loose materials such as sand, gravel, plastic, or tobacco into containers or hoppersSort materials into buckets based on type (e.g., dark tobacco, green tobacco, tobacco with stems)Pull degradation test samples following the JTI Quality Manual (QC only)Cleaning Designated Areas:Sweep assigned zones and remove debris or contaminantsCollect and dispose of sweepings into designated metal containersMaintain strict cleanliness following the 5S3R housekeeping policyOther Duties:Perform other tasks as assigned by the line managerQualifications and RequirementsPrior material handling or warehouse experience preferredComfortable performing physically demanding tasks and lifting up to 50 lbs.Basic understanding of safety and housekeeping standardsMust pass a pre-employment drug screen and background checkBenefits and Perks$18 an hourMedical, Dental & Vision401(k)Referral bonusesYour Career PartnerThe Reserves Network, a veteran-founded and family-owned company, specializes in connecting exceptional talent with rewarding opportunities.
