Santa Rosa Beach and Country Club is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager (GM) to lead our prestigious club. This pivotal role demands a blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, and an unparalleled understanding of high-level hospitality. The GM will be responsible for driving the club's mission, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring an exceptional experience for all members.
General Manager Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Creates and maintains a culture of hospitality, with first-class service standards. Knows and understands how to work with committees and the Board to ensure member and guest satisfaction. Ensures the highest standards for food and beverage service; Monitors the number of Private Events held at the Vue, not to interfere with the member’s experience. Delivers services and maintains or improves overall member satisfaction. Prepares and monitors annual budget, revenue goals, and expenses, as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, etc.) business volume forecasts; Oversees all Capital Projects with outside contractors. Monitors monthly and other financial reports/statements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary. Establishes and implements Troon personnel policy, initiates and monitors policies relating to personnel actions and training, along with professional development programs. Ensures all Human Resources procedures and policies are followed by management staff. Develops, maintains, and administers a sound organizational plan, proactively initiating improvements as necessary. Reports to the Senior Vice President and Board President. Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facility’s assets. Implementing policies and procedures for multiple departments, including compliance with all company standards and GCM standards, while working effectively with the golf operations team, is paramount. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Directly manages department members that may include, but are not limited to: Head Golf Professional, Golf Course Superintendent, Membership Director, Food and Beverage Director, Controller, and Member Experience, etc. Assures that effective orientation and training are provided for each new associate. Implements a training program for the Vue with its unique operation for both public and member dining. Being the leader who educates the Board and Committee members regularly, versus just at the monthly meeting. Have regularly scheduled meetings with each department head weekly to make sure they are being heard. How to institute best practices that are impacting the member experience, even if it means a drastic change. Set goals and KPI measurements that are followed up on regularly. What are the current/ future culinary offerings, and what facilities do we need to provide a better member experience. Capital planning: What does that look like in the next five years? Demonstrate strong business skills and creative approaches. Understands sustainability that is comprised of member satisfaction, strong financials, and a great management team. Create a sense of purpose for employees, and strive to become excellent at their roles.Minimum Qualifications for the General Manager:
Bachelor’s degree (BA); or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
