General Manager

Description of Role:

GM will be responsible for the successful and sustainable performance and operations of the Shared Facilities. GM is ultimately accountable and responsible for safe, efficient, reliable and environmentally compliant operations & maintenance of assets.

Key Responsibilties:

Assume full accountability for the KPIs as well as ensure business goals are met within approved periodic budgets of the Company Ensuring operations of the Shared Facilities is conducted in compliance with all relevant and applicable regulatory requirements (including legal, technical, HSE, tax etc) Ensuring compliance with all contractual and commercial obligations of the Company  Ensuring that the organisation is rightly sized in terms of manpower strength (headcount) to meet the obligations of the company Ensuring sustainable HR and talent management policies are developed and implemented within the organization Responsible to define and implement the strategies for the training and development of the company’s human resources Responsible for the implementation and development of the collective bargaining agreement for semi-skilled and skilled staff with the Union Ensuring all internal policies and regulations are developed, maintained and updated, as well as operations of the Shared Facilities Company are performed in strict compliance with applicable policies and procedures Representing the Company in interactions with all relevant external stakeholders Responsible for the efficient use of human, financial and material resources to optimize the performance of assets and facilities · Accountable to ensure efficient planning and execution of major maintenance programs Accountable to ensure efficient planning and execution of capital expenditure projects Ensure timely procurement and adequate inventory of spares parts to maintain the contractual availability of Shared Facilities Accountable to ensure that plant activities will be conducted with the highest level of safety and within the expected environment impact Responsible for internal and external reporting, governance reporting requirements and applicable statutory reporting requirements

Requirements:

Fluent in written and spoken English and Russian/Uzbek Master’s Degree in Engineering and/or in Business Administration 10 years of managerial experience of managing Balance-of Plant or shared facilities for a gas fired power station and demonstrated experience of successfully managing multi skilled and culturally diverse operations team Experience of working in the CIS region or other regions with culturally diverse teams (good to have) Good understanding of the business and legal environment in Uzbekistan will be advantageous

 

Skills and Experience:

Experience of managing P&L with strong business acumen and a detailed knowledge of commercial drivers and contract astuteness Leadership experience with ability to lead large multi-disciplined teams and manage a challenging workload Strategic mindset and ability to develop comprehensive strategic plans Handling and understanding collective bargaining and unionised staff issues on a multi-disciplined operational team Hands-on experience in managing plant operations and handling contractual requirements
