Your role at Baxter:

The General Manager, Ambulatory Cardiac Monitoring, Front Line Care is responsible for managing a multi-million-dollar P&L with business revenue of nearly $100M annually and growing by double digits over the course of the next 5 years. The General Manager will drive the Marketing, R&D and Operations teams, globally, with full accountability for the strategic direction and business success. Candidate should be a highly developed leader, demonstrating clear communication and accountable decision making, and exhibits a collaborative leadership style which fosters employee engagement.

S/He must have strong commercial capabilities, experience managing a team, critical thinking, technical skills, and an ability and desire to grow with the organization. Given the high-profile nature of this role, Baxter seeks a motivated, self-starter with excellent judgment to take initiative and ownership of key projects, talent matters and transactions.

 

What you’ll be doing:

The General Manager will be scaling an organization of 300+ team members to develop, globalize and commercialize an ambulatory cardiac monitoring portfolio. Additionally, this position will drive all items related to the ACM business globally. Specifically, the General Manager will drive product development, operations and commercial execution to advance critical new product introductions and market expansion activities to meet P&L and operational performance targets. The General Manager of ACM will work in collaboration with members of the leadership team to align on strategy and overall FLC performance.

Essential job responsibilities:

Assumes overall responsibility for the global ACM businessAccountable for top line sales and bottom line profitabilityDevelop and maintain relationships with Clinicians and C-Suite ExecutivesDrives and supports key ACM talent decisions and initiatives. Builds a strong and collaborative team through coaching, development, empowerment and motivation

 

Vertical focus areas:

Upstream Marketing; develop overall marketing plan and product pipeline strategy to grow the businessR&D; developing an ongoing cadence of new product introductions, maintaining and support existing products on the market (sustaining), and managing all internal and external product development stakeholdersRegulatory Affairs; in partnership with the supporting function, ensuring the correct strategy is in place for all regulatory filings, new and current. Candidate needs to understand differences in regional regulatory authorities, knowledge of the European EUMDR process/requirements, and have an understanding of various regulatory strategies based on the particular geographyOperations; in partnership with supporting function; candidate will lead Supply Chain process and determine product allocation by geography. Candidate will work with operations partner to determine optimal plant network and structure and determine with partner optimal pathway for any current/new product technical transferHuman Resources; in partnership with supporting function, candidate will drive culture and alignment of over arching Baxter initiatives. Individual will be responsible for understanding recruiting strategies and all aspects of current employee dynamicsMedical Affairs; in partnership with supporting function, ensuring the correct clinical strategy is in place to support current and new product introductions. Candidate needs to understand and guide the clinical strategy, globally and regionally, based on the requirements of each geography and overarching strategy for the division

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelors Degree, MBA preferred15+ years’ related work experience, with at least two years concurrent leadership experience in medical device areaExperience with both vertical and matrix concept, strong business acumenExecutive presence with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organizationThe successful candidate will bring significant strategic business experience, have collaborative problem-solving ability while taking primary responsibility for quality patient outcomes and regulatory adherenceAbility to operate independently and problem solve in a large, complex, matrixed environment
