This role is responsible for a number of tasks that include but are not limited to month end closing activities, accounts reconciliations, fabricators & refiner reconciliations, freight management, permanent investment, Taxes, SURI, metals accounting, cycle count, inventory control, refining tasks and cost related tasks. In addition, this role is responsible for reconciliations between systems to ensure all data is correct in all systems. The different tasks and responsibilities are divided between different individuals in the same role, but cross training is coordinated in order to have flexibility amongst all the team members when coverage or changes are needed in order to maintain a robust back up system. Job requires high degree of independent judgement and broad background in accounting and manufacturing processes since tasks are performed with limited guidance. Some of these tasks relate to other MCM Subsidiaries in addition to the Manati site. Performs a variety of accounting/finance and tax duties in compliance with accounting requirements and principles and local government and tax authorities. Ensures reporting deadlines are complied with and engages appropriate resources when needed to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities:Responsibilities and Authorities:
Performing activities as it relates to the area of responsibility assigned: Freight, metals accounting, permanent investments, SURI, Taxes, Cycle Count, Refining and/or inventory control, cost, etc. There are during the month tasks and month end closing tasks specific to each area of responsibility. Each employee will have assigned subject/topic of direct responsibility. These subjects will change over time to ensure proper back up processes are established.These tasks should be performed by adhering to established policies and procedures, using knowledge of financial processes, internal controls, procedures and systems. Support the business on any special need related to any of the areas assigned.Responsible for investigating any differences between systems (e.g.: SAP vs ORGIT and SLOC recon) at a high and at a detailed level. Investigate differences and recommend correcting entries. Obtain approval for corrections and communicate financial impact to the business. Other systems reconciliations might be required as needed.Initiate and lead special projects for process improvements. Serve as a lead for Continuous Improvement projects in the finance group. This includes updating any currently available programs and also develop new applications as needed (with necessary support from programmer). This includes basic knowledge of Access and SQL.Responsible for performing cost of manufacturing (COM) for different materials as assigned. Should be prepared to present such analysis to a wide range of users (plant resources, business resources, centers resources, etc.).Responsible for providing support to other areas - Manufacturing, Sourcing, Product Delivery, Maintenance, Engineering, as well as other areas within the Manatí Finance Organization, etc. as assigned.Responsible for providing audit information to internal and external auditors as needed.Update/create desk procedures for all tasks performed by this role to ensure they are appropriately documented.Adhere to and set the example for the company core values (Safety & Health, Environmental Stewardship, Highest Ethical Behavior and Respect for People).Other tasks or areas of responsibility may be added. Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Accounting from a four (4) year college or university OR five (5) years related experience and/or training. Knowledge of manufacturing practices is a plus.Skills and Competencies:
