About the role.
Responsible for operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner in relation to processing demands. This is six months contract position with the posibility of extention.
What you’ll be doing.
Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner in relation to processing demands. Keep starch system in good running order: clearing plugs, replacing and cleaning starch cloths. Responsible for the loading of starch bags into trailers, ensuring empty bags hung on starch system and starch testing. Aid process operators – such as rebuilding cutter heads, cleaning for cut changes, and loading ingredients on SAP deck. Break area operators, especially batter. Learn cutter, ADR and batter areas to serve as back up. Carry out assigned testing and accurately complete/maintain all required documentation. Ensures good housekeeping and 5S practices are maintained in processing. Performing required daily tests to ensure product quality, consistency, and determine equipment effectiveness. Then recording results into the designated McCain database to drive Real Time Management and support data analysis. Familiar with Trim Inspectors roles and responsibility in case of breaking or filling in. Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to be successful.
Must have proven history of safe work habits. Process Control, OCAP and basic computer skills. High School Graduate Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS. Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work on a rotating shift basis. Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations. Able to work in a hot temperature work environment. Able to perform inspection for Contamination, Safety, Food Safety and Mixed Product Sources. Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills. Must be willing to cross train in other areas. Must be willing to work in a team-based atmosphere. Familiarity with in-process control testing and entering results into the designated McCain database.Must be willing to obtain (if you do not have) Forklift training.
Physical Requirements:
Physically capable of performing all required duties including some heavy and/or repetitive lifting (up to 40lbs).

Compensation Package: - Starting at27.40 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
