General labor is responsible for safely handle lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.
Principe Duties/Responsibilities:
Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructionsStacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirementsLabels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and countApplies individual tags to material before/after treating/productionUses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipmentBands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticksFollows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirementsEnsures correct quantities and material are strapped, labeled before leaving the work areaMaintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor Records production on production sheetsMaintains a clean and organized work areaAssists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material cartsParticipates in safety, CI and other programs and meetingsPerforms other duties as requiredRequirements
Knowledge
High school diploma/GED preferred but not requiredNo minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferredWorking knowledge of basic mathMust be at least 18 years of ageSkills and Abilities
Ability to work in a safe mannerAbility to recognize size/grade/quality of materialAbility to correctly read a tape measure and moisture meterAbility to understand basic math and numbersDemonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directionsDemonstrate ability to use and operate hand tools and other equipment as requiredDemonstrate ability to stack material properlyAbility to pay attention to surroundingsAbility to identify safety issues in their work area, and notice equipment malfunctionsAbility to understand basic verbal and written instructions in EnglishAbility to work under immediate supervisionAbility to pass a drug testAbility to work hours mandated by managementConduct
