The Downer South division is highly respected and has a great track record for delivering a high standard of work across the country.  We are looking for a General Hand to provide support within our Hastings team. 

As a General Hand, you will be involved in varied projects assisting with civil work, operating of machinery, and preparing worksites. This role may present an entry-level opportunity for people interested in civil infrastructure and roading.

You will be involved in the undertaking of day-to-day manual labouring duties and some general operation of light machinery as well as. This could include:

Helping with safe site setup for your crew and the general public (traffic management)Hand work including digging, barrowing, minor vegetation control, painting, water blasting Ensuring efficient use of materials, supplies and equipment while working as part of a cohesive team to deliver to client requirements

You will be a physically fit and motivated person and will bring with you: 

Class 2 Full Licence and WTR requiredAbility to work within a team and alone when requiredFlexibility to work away from home and work night shift work / call outs as required Occasionally assist with call-out workHave a positive 'can do' attitude
