Description We are looking for an experienced General Counsel to join our team in Rockwall, Texas. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal expert with a strong background in commercial litigation and business transactions, particularly within the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding legal strategies, drafting documents, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities: • Draft and review legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws. • Manage commercial litigation cases, providing strategic insights and representation. • Oversee real estate transactions, including due diligence and contract negotiations. • Provide guidance on workers' compensation matters and related legal issues. • Collaborate with leadership on tax planning strategies and patent-related inquiries, when needed. • Ensure compliance with regulations and standards within the construction industry. • Advise on risk management and claim administration processes. • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders to address legal concerns effectively. • Monitor and audit business systems to ensure proper documentation and adherence to legal requirements. Requirements • Active membership with the Texas State Bar. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal practice, particularly in commercial litigation and business transactions. • Familiarity with legal issues in the construction industry. • Strong skills in drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents. • Experience with workers' compensation and claim administration. • Excellent communication and documentation abilities. • Knowledge of business systems and auditing processes. • Ability to handle complex legal matters with precision and professionalism.
