Accounting Manager
Reporting to APAC Controller, this is a hands-on role, responsible for all General Ledger matters for assigned legal entities and ensure accurate and timely reporting of the results. The role is required to have a close partnership with other finance teams, internal key business partners as well as external audit/tax agents. In addition, the role requires strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines. There are 2 accounting staff reporting into this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your main focus:
Ensure accounting close of Japan legal entities including corporate reporting (e.g. SEC reporting and analytics) accurately and timely as per corporate deadlines Review trial balances and analyze key accounts to identify unusual transactions Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliation Provide support and guidance to business partners on closing process, accounting treatment and internal control matters Responsible for GST / VAT return and annual income tax return, as well as WHT Identify and drive process improvements across the finance function Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulatory as well as the established practices and policies Design, development, implementation and regular update of local policies, procedures, and related control, based on best practice of global & local requirements Act as the main liaison between the company, regional team and the BPO team Lead and develop accounting staff to take on new responsibilities to support company growth Participate in ad-hoc projects as required

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting with strong understanding and kept abreast of financial and accounting reporting standards, as well as regulatory changes Possess strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX control Able to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines SAP and Hyperion knowledge is preferable, with good experience in accounting software Strong auditing, internal controls, and process improvement skills Good trouble shooter Strong interpersonal skills Effective communication, fluent in English Analytical and tactful in managing users’ expectations Hands-on, detailed and meticulous International and / or multinational experience is preferred
