Job SummaryThe Genesee Early College (GEC), located in French Hall, has an opening for a peer Instructional Aid position for qualified undergraduate UM-Flint students. The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for working under the direction of the classroom teacher assisting the students during the learning process.
Responsibilities*Essential Duties:
Assists with providing individual and small group tutoring on a variety of subjects as directed by the classroom teacher Assists with providing in-classroom support for students working on individual assignments and projects Assists with providing support for classroom management during direct instruction and student work time.Assists with supporting clubs and organizations happening during and after the school dayAssists with creating and attending field trips and Community-based learning assignmentsAssists with logistical aspects of classroom setup and maintenanceAssists with monitoring and modeling of appropriate behaviorAssists with proctoring examinations and standardized testsAssists with communicating classroom needs with the main office and counseling officeAssists with monitoring students' needs and concerns in the classroom and discusses these needs with the classroom teacherAssists with clerical tasks needed for classroom managementAssists with keeping students on-task during direct instruction and individual work-timeOther Duties:
Performs routine tasks necessary to carry out assigned responsibilities. Assists with other relevant duties as assigned by the classroom teacher.Required Qualifications*
Education:
High School Diploma/equivalent required.Current enrollment in undergraduate coursework.
