Job DescriptionAs a Garment Technologist, you will play a key role in ensuring the technical and specification excellence of our apparel ranges. From concept to production, you will work closely with designers, buyers, and offshore teams to ensure that our garments are produced to the highest standards of fit, quality, and functionality – garments that our Kiwi customers will love and can wear with confidence!
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed product specifications and technical packs.Use 3D apparel development tools to create and update virtual patterns and fit samplesProvide feedback on fit sessions and sample testing to achieve the desired fit and quality.Collaborate with designers and buyers to ensure technical feasibility and efficient manufacture of our apparel rangesEnsure relevant testing requirements are requested to maintain TWL policy and regulatory compliance standards are always metLiaise with off-shore merchandise teams around technical issues and maintain production timelines.Continuous improvement and maintaining existing testing and standards manuals for our suppliers/manufacturers and apparel teamsManage information handovers, workflow, and development sample delivery to ensure outcomes are delivered according to critical path milestones.Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainability practices. QualificationsA snapshot of what we’re looking for:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in tech packs creation, garment construction, pattern making, product development, grading/sizing and fitting.Quality Assurance: Strong knowledge of compliance with NZ safety standards and quality control procedures. 3D Apparel Software: Experience with Browzwear VStitcher (preferred), or other 3D apparel development programs advantageous. Ability to confidently create, amend, and fit in a virtual setting.Proficient in Adobe Illustrator. Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills along with excellent communication skills Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to delivering the best possible products to our customers.
