GA Continuous Improvement Manager

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.

The Role:

As the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will lead initiatives that optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve overall performance in General Assembly. You’ll serve as a change agent, working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to embed a culture of continuous improvement and drive measurable results.

What You'll Do:Lead and facilitate CI projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen tools.Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain process improvements.Develop and deliver CI training to build team capability and engagement.Standardize best practices across shifts and teams.Support new model launches and process integration.Track and report KPIs related to efficiency, quality, and cost.Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.

Additional Job DescriptionRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations, or related job experience.Minimum 7+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or high-volume assembly.Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred).Demonstrated success in leading CI initiatives with measurable impact.Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.Proficiency in data analysis tools and manufacturing systems (e.g., Power BI, MES, SAP).

Preferred Qualifications:Experience within General Motors or similar OEM environment.Familiarity with GM’s Global Manufacturing System (GMS).Six Sigma Black Belt certification.Strong project management and change management capabilities.Ability to influence and engage teams at all organizational levels.Passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement.
