Join EY and help to build a better working world. **US – Tax - National Tax – Tax Technology and Transformation – Finance Transformation - Manager** Tax Technology and Transformation offers services to companies in response to both internal and external disruptive forces that greatly impact the finance and tax function. These disruptors necessitate that finance and tax function operate in a fundamentally different way. Our services address this paradigm shift utilizing existing and emerging technology, addressing the growing data burden that many businesses face, driving efficiencies to create a cost-effective finance and tax function and the need to understand how to make data an asset. The underlying objective of the combined offerings is to help businesses navigate the digital age of tax transparency alongside new trends in tax compliance and tax audit methods, as well as helping to solve the most pressing challenges that businesses face. Tax Technology and Transformation is composed of the following services + Finance and tax operating model strategy & transformation, including process improvement, risk, and controls + Finance and tax function assessments + Digital finance and tax transformation + Post-transaction (M&A) tax function operational services + Tax technology strategy and road mapping + Tax data and improvement + Tax analytics and reporting enhancement + Emerging tax technology, including robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, cloud solutions, data lake development and business intelligence innovation + Tax technology program mobilization + Custom tax technology application development and deployment + Direct and indirect tax systems implementation and configuration + Tax applications-as-a-service **The opportunity** This is an area that has seen plenty of recent growth and investment – and you will see that reflected in your career. The field of taxation is constantly changing as new laws, regulations and technologies are created, and this is your opportunity to be part of that development. **Your key responsibilities** The Finance Transformation competency in TTT assists clients in building finance and tax functions that are business-focused, cost-effective and agile to meet the needs of their stakeholders. Depending on your unique skills and ambitions, you could be supporting various client projects including working with executive level stakeholders to understand their business objectives, leading finance and tax function assessments, developing innovative transformation solutions, and fostering deep client relationships. Whatever you find yourself doing, you will contribute and help toward developing a highly trained team, all the while handling activities with a focus on quality and commercial value. As a Manager in the Finance Transformation competency, you will be required to: + Support long-term client relationships and networks including the development of relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs + Manage the day-to-day delivery of client engagements, including: + Managing and motivating client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds + Developing and reviewing high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget + Monitoring progress, managing risk and ensuring key stakeholders and project leaders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes + Managing expectations of client service delivery + Leading the implementation of client recommendations + Conducting client workshops + Demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the areas of Finance and Tax operations and processes; Finance and Tax operating models; shared service centers and Finance and Tax technologies + Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment and play an active role in counselling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization + Demonstrate the ability to quickly assimilate to new focus areas and possess strong business acumen **Skills and attributes for success** + Characteristics of a forward thinker and self-motivator that thrives on new challenges and adapts quickly to learning new skills + Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and help develop a team of junior consulting professionals + A proven track record of outstanding performance and display a high level of people and business skills + A proven track record with developing and maintaining client relationships + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Excellent oral and written communication skills + A strong work ethic + Taking ownership of assigned tasks and monitoring them until completion, including documenting requirements, configuration, testing, debugging, project profitability, and tax systems and process configuration + Identifying ways to automate manual tasks using existing financial or tax systems and emerging technologies + Consolidating tax data to make analysis and planning more efficient + Improving reporting capabilities to enhance our clients' ability to evaluate risk and capitalize on opportunities + Supporting project team members in any way needed to help ensure timely completion of deliverables **To qualify for the role, you must have** + Minimum of 6 years' relevant experience, including: previous work with a Big 4, global management consultancy firm, niche consultancy or performed an in-house role in which you gained exposure to a large-scale project(s) + Approved technical certification, CPA license or membership to state Bar or progress to attaining those mentioned + Experience delivering business change in one or more of the following areas would be expected: + Shared Services and Outsourcing programs + Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations + Program/project management for large scale business transformation + Process improvement in a Finance and Tax settings + A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes + Excellent communication and business writing skills + A natural flair for problem solving and an entrepreneurial approach to work + Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional client-serving consulting skills + Demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize business requirements **Ideally, you will also have** + Experience leading or delivering large finance and tax transformations + Program/project management experience + Knowledge of key business and finance trends impacting tax functions + Knowledge of current and upcoming tax legislative changes + Experience managing or delivering large, multidisciplinary projects that impact tax (e.g., ERP implementations, tax co-sourcing engagements, finance transformations) + Experience implementing third-party direct or indirect tax systems (such as ONESOURCE, CorpTax, Vertex, Avalara, Longview, etc.) + Microsoft Office VBA development + Microsoft Power BI suite, including Power Pivot, Power Query, Power View and Power Map + Knowledge and experience in the design and development of databases (specifically SQL Server) + Experience with developing ETL solutions using SSIS or other tools + ERP experience, including SAP and/or Oracle + SharePoint development **What we look for** We are looking for knowledgeable technical professionals with excellent general knowledge of both international and domestic tax. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $124,200 to $227,800. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $149,100 to $258,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
