Our Collins Aerospace York, NE site is a manufacturer of highly engineered precision components supporting both commercial and military customers. Manufactured components are used primarily in generators and Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines save lives, over 2,600 lives.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Conduct furnace readings, rounds, and oversee process flow to maintain optimal operation
+ Uphold process integrity and ensure quality standards are met throughout all furnace operations
+ Load, unload and monitor furnaces runs.
+ Inspect parts that have been brazed.
+ Understand and follow quality testing techniques. Learn how to read and understand prints so that inspection and alloy placement can be understood.
+ Perform equipment preventative maintenance as directed and promptly report any mechanical or safety concerns to supervisors
+ Follow standard operating procedures to uphold safety protocols and ensure product quality
+ Utilize basic to intermediate computer skills for data entry and process monitoring.
+ Acquire knowledge of Collins and customer specifications, finished products, and relevant policies
+ Performs other additional duties as assigned
+ **2nd Shift:** Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm
+ **Training Schedule** : Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm for ~90 days.
**What You Will Learn:**
+ **Operational Proficiency:** You will gain hands-on experience in maintaining furnace operations, conducting readings, and ensuring process flow, while also performing maintenance tasks to ensure safety and efficiency.
+ **Quality and Inspection Skills:** You will learn how to inspect brazed parts, follow quality testing techniques, read technical prints, and ensure that all furnace operations meet quality standards.
+ **Technical and Compliance Knowledge:** You will develop skills in data entry and process monitoring using basic to intermediate computer systems, while also acquiring an understanding of Collins Aerospace specifications and customer requirements.
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
**Qualifications We Prefer:**
+ Prior furnace monitoring experience
+ Two or more years of experience within a manufacturing environment, particulary in a special process environment
+ Experience with interpreting blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings
+ Experience with using Solumina
+ Experience with SAP
