Description We are looking for a dedicated Fundraising Officer to join our team on a contract basis in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is essential in driving our organization’s fundraising efforts, strengthening donor relationships, and supporting campaign execution. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, organizational skills, and a passion for building long-lasting connections with supporters.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events, both virtual and in-person.
• Prepare and manage fundraising materials, including donor outreach letters, thank-you notes, and promotional content.
• Research potential donors, corporate opportunities, and available grants to expand funding sources.
• Maintain and update donor databases, ensuring accurate tracking of contributions and timely communication with supporters.
• Generate and distribute donation receipts, acknowledgment letters, and stewardship materials for donors.
• Assist with crafting compelling fundraising appeals, campaign updates, and event invitations.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for fundraising events, including securing auction items and in-kind donations.
• Coordinate volunteer efforts related to events and donor engagement activities.
• Create detailed fundraising reports and dashboards, analyzing donor trends to inform future strategies. Requirements
• Proven experience in fundraising, donor development, or a related field.
• Bachelor degree in marketing, business administration, communications, nonprofit management, or related field preferred
• Strong skills in business development, including identifying opportunities and cultivating relationships.
• Proficiency in using donor management platforms such as Salesforce, Bloomerang, or DonorPerfect.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive appeals and donor correspondence.
• Ability to organize and execute events, including logistics and volunteer coordination.
• Analytical abilities to interpret donor data and recommend strategic improvements.
• Experience with cold calling or outreach to potential donors and sponsors.
• High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
