Fund Tax Analyst, Specialist

As a Fund Tax Analyst at Vanguard, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with global tax regulations within US and non-US Fund structures. Working alongside a team of tax professionals, you’ll help monitor international tax laws, track regulatory changes, and support accurate tax reporting to protect investment products from financial risk. The role is dynamic and evolving, with a key focus on implementing and overseeing the FATCA compliance program —finalizing existing frameworks, establishing effective processes, and ensuring alignment with global regulatory requirements.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with internal teams such as the Transfer Agency group and coordinate with external partners including accounting firms, banks, and brokers. You’ll also contribute to annual tax filings and work closely with Senior Tax Specialists who manage similar processes. This position requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of fund taxation, as you serve as a trusted resource and subject matter expert across the business.
Responsibilities
+ P rovides strategic and technical tax support, develops recommendations to minimize tax risk for the funds and shareholders as it relates to withholding taxes. Works with internal teams to develop tax reporting and accounting policies.
+ Serves as subject matter expert on complex tax compliance matters, and as the global process owner.
+ Manages preparation, review, and consultative services for tax compliance.
+ Performs independent analysis of complex tax issues. Recommends solutions and improvements to senior management and internal partners.
+ Monitors for legislative and regulatory developments to ensure compliance with domestic and international taxation, tax laws, and regulations affecting global investments of Vanguard products. Attends industry and vendor conferences to stay abreast of changes and industry impact.
+ Partners with the business in designing and developing new products and evaluating new instruments.
+ Contributes to the development and growth of less experience crew members, provides technical guidance and on-the-job training as needed.
+ Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Minimum of five years related work experience.
+ Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Accounting or Finance degree preferred. Graduate degree preferred.
+ CPA certification is strongly preferred.
+ Strong familiarity with FATCA regulations and related compliance requirements.
+ Experience in mutual fund taxation and international tax law
