Job Description

This role is responsible for formulating, revising and implementing alternative investment strategies. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through supervised staff in:

Identifying, analysing and evaluating prospective alternative investment opportunities.

Assist in pipeline tracking, sector mapping and investment committee.

Supporting due diligence reviews on active transactions (financial, commercial, operational), structuring and execution of new alternative investments opportunities.

Construction of detailed financial models, term sheets, investment appraisal presentations, bid letters and agreements.

Prepare investor presentations, webinars and thought leadership materials.

Assist with fundraising and relationship management.

Drive investment performance of portfolio companies through preparation and execution of a comprehensive monitoring plan for portfolio companies.

Extensive interaction with senior management of target companies and investee companies.

Reviewing financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annually, ad-hoc) and key performance metrics for portfolio companies.

Creation, management and maintenance of periodic investment valuation reports and financial models.

Oversee preparation and presentation of periodic reports to clients and internal governance structures.

Ensure investment decisions are implemented in accordance with the investment committee principles.

Focus on main investment themes and risks with material impact on investment decisions (performance, risk, income) in a highly complex environment.

Qualifications:

Degree in finance or equivalent

Studying towards a relevant (CFA/CA/CAIA) professional qualification

Post graduate qualifications such as accountancy or an MBA would be an advantage

Competencies:

Experience in investment processes and management consultancy.

Knowledge of risk, compliance, and governance processes.

5 years+ in a portfolio management role in private equity space.

Meaningful M&A transaction experience, particulary on the buyside M&A

Wide understanding of different markets and business models and ability to judge the quality and motivation of management teams.

Commercial acumen and ability to source suitable investment opportunities.

Strong financial modelling skills.

Understanding of financial and credit analysis, valuation and primary fundamental research and their application in investment decisions and transaction structuring.

High level of technical skills; including ability to develop complex data models in excel and exposure to computer programming (Python, R, Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
