Description We are looking for a Fund Accountant I to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for providing essential accounting services to mutual fund clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in fund accounting while collaborating with various stakeholders. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review daily fund calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with guidelines. • Reconcile cash balances, fund expense reports, and income projections on a monthly and yearly basis. • Monitor and track fund subscriptions, redemptions, and wire transfers to maintain accurate records. • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address inquiries. • Assist in onboarding and training new team members to support their development in fund accounting. • Develop cash flow analyses and other financial reports to support decision-making. • Communicate financial updates and fund information to advisors and other stakeholders regularly. • Report fund net asset values (NAVs) to pricing services in a timely manner. • Maintain financial books and records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team operations. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field. • Proficiency in GAAP accounting principles and practices. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy. • Familiarity with fund accounting processes is preferred but not required.
