About the Role

The Software Engineer in Telematics team will have the opportunity to develop innovative software for automotive industry. Telematics exposes the internal car ecosystem to the Internet: the car becomes an element of the Internet of Things (IoT), offering a new level of access to car’s functionalities and a platform to build additional features in areas such as safety, security, comfort. You will work with concepts like Telematics, 5G and V2X (vehicle-to-everything). You will be part of a team responsible for developing the software components for a Telematics team, with one of the next specializations: Telematics Applications, Connectivity, Calls, Security, SW Update, System, Autosar integration.

What You Will Do

Develop software components (C++/Linux).Analyze and assess customer specifications; develop components based on this information.Take care about communication with customer on his domainPlan the features and tickets according with project milestones; creates tasks for the planned features according with Agile methodologyTake care about communication between team members and project managementThe quality of software components is according with standards specified in BMSCreate reports for project, local management and customerResolve inconsistencies in case of unclear technical requirements in the specification by direct communication with the customer.Make functional testing of developed source code, participate in code review sessions.Defect analysis and scenario validationAct according the standards of the automotive industry, in-car applications and software development processes.Evaluate change requests from customer and identify the risksReview the changes and propose adjustements if requiredFamiliar with security concepts in Linux/Embedded.Create and maintain code design documents on high level and/or component level.This rol has no subordinates.

Other responsibilities specific to the occupational safety and health

Becomes acquainted with and applies correctly the legislation, the general and specific norms in the field of occupational safety and health and the different procedures in accordance with the specific nature of the workplaceAttends the periodical training in the field of occupational safety and health and in the field of the fire prevention and extinction;Carries out his/her activity at the workplace in compliance with the occupational safety and health norms, the fire prevention and extinction norms, the health and individual hygiene norms at the workplace;Knows the risk factors and the professional diseases specific to the workplace;Identifies the dangers arising at the workplace and reports them to the person competent to take measures, according to specific procedures at the workplace;Observes emergency and evacuation procedures and indicates possible accidents by promptly contacting the corresponding emergency services;Uses the work equipment correctly;Communicates immediately to the employer and/or appointed workers/ internal/external department for prevention and protection any labour situation he/she has grounded reasons to regard as a danger for the safety and health of the workers, as well as any deficiency of the protection systems;Notifies to the management of the company and/or the hierarchical superior accidents suffered by his/her own person;Cooperates with the employer and/or appointed workers/internal/external department for prevention and protection in order to facilitate the accomplishment of any measures or requirements ordered by labour and sanitary inspectors, for the protection of the workers’ health and safety;Cooperates with the employer and/or appointed workers/internal/external department for prevention and protection in order to allow the employer to ensure safe work environment and work conditions, without any risks for safety and health, in his/her field of activity;Ensures the provision of information requested by labour and sanitary inspectors.

What You Need to be successful

At least 5+ years of experience as a software developer.Bachelor degree in Computer Science or other relevant (IT connected) specializations.Solid knowledge of C++ proved by 5+ years of experience.Linux expertise.Experience in developing embedded applications.Knowledge in inter-process communication, threading.Working knowledge of software development processes.Working knowledge of embedded operating systems.Knowledge in Security conceptsGood English skills in spoken and written English.Experience in working with (external) customers/OEMsSelf-driven, autonomous and systematic way of working and able to help other achieve thisAnalytical skills and good system understanding in the embedded SW areaKnowledge in agile software development methods (e.g. V-Model, ASPICE, etc.)Knowledge of agile methods and frameworks (SAFe) is an advantage.
