Job Description

The George is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full Time Evening Server to join our dynamic team and assist our guests during dinner service. If you are eager to deliver exceptional service and be part of the Fairmont experience, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Familiar with all menus including wine and beverage listsResets dining room according to meal period and table needsPerforms restaurant service preparation duties such as preparing condiments, polishing glassware and silver ware, brewing coffee and ensuring work stations are stockedInforms and promotes guests of daily/nightly specialsOffers creative selling of products to guestsAnswers questions and/or makes recommendations on menus itemsExplains how various menu items are prepared, describing cooking methods and ingredientsTakes into consideration any special request, dietary issues made by the guestsDescribes and recommends wine pairings to guestsBrings wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pours the wine for guestsEnsures final quality check on food and beverage prior to serving guestsClear, clean, reset, and maintain station during shiftProvides general hotel information for guestsServes food and beverages to guests and adheres to the steps of serviceFollows all proper credit card and cash handling proceduresAddresses any guest issue promptly and with concernProvides assistance to restaurant staff as neededAdditional duties as assigned
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent requiredAt least two years high volume restaurant serving experience preferredLuxury dining experience preferredGeneral knowledge of Alcoholic beveragesWorking knowledge of wine & wine-pairings; Advanced knowledge preferred

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must hold authorization to work in the USAMust be at least 18 years of ageMust possess a valid Washington State Alcohol MAST Permit (Class 13)Must possess a valid Washington Food Worker CardMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishMust possesses excellent communication skillsMust be professional in appearance and demeanorAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidaysMust have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walkingMust be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height
